I’m a busy little bee! I feel more like the oh-so-cliched chicken without a head, though. I’d forgotten how much freaking WORK college is! It’s only the second week and I feel buried already, so I’m starting to freak out a little bit. Then I remember my new leaves and that I’m actually getting stuff done on time this semester, I’m not waiting til the night before or maybe even the day after to finish things. I am a champion procrastinator (seriously – I think I might have won some awards, but I never got around to picking them up on time…). I keep telling myself it’s only 4 months, it’s only 16 weeks, you can do anything for 16 weeks. I feel like an alcoholic with the whole “one day at a time” thing.
Today was one of my school-less days, so Boyo and I did crafts together and read five books before naptime, then took a nap together. Whenever I curl up with him for a nap I always remember when he was just itty-bitty and am constantly astonished by the sheer size of the kid. Four and a half is BIG.
We had planned two crafts for today – scratch art via Kiddley and these monsters I’m too cheap to buy from Mahar Drygoods (linked from Sweet Juniper). Boyo got bored with scratch art in 30 seconds (he told me that his knees hurt when he sat still for too long), and he decided that the making of monsters was boring, so I could do that. He would play with them afterward. I managed to get 1 1/2 done before we decided to stop for lunch, but I had a blast sewing them up. I’m an awful sewer but the stitching on these puppies was so easy with embroidery floss, and felt is awfully forgiving. I plan to make use of the 10 different felt colors we purchased and create a whole monster menagerie for my house.
Lastly, I put up some pictures on my Flickr page. I figured, if I’m taking the photography class, why not start posting stuff there? E kindly made me a file of my stuff on the computer and so I think I’ll slowly upload any good-ish shots I’ve taken, including class stuff once I actually get photog-ing.
